I've attached the star letter and calendar above. This is a fun way for the class to get to know each other. This will begin next week, August 27th. I'll notify parents prior to their star week. I look forward to getting to know you and your family!
Mrs. Leclair
Here are the details and directions for each day!
You are a Star Student!
Your child is a star! This week your child will be our Star Student. Some of the Star Student responsibilities during the week are modeling good behavior and sharing information about their life. Children love to share about themselves and their favorite things. This is a BIG deal to your kindergartner! Please help me to make this a special week for your child!
Weekend: Frankie the Frog, our classroom stuffed friend, comes home with your child for a visit. When possible, please have your child carry Frankie the Frog along during their weekend activities. Then you or your child can record Frankie the Frog’s happenings in his journal. Also, your child can draw or add photos to the journal writing.
*Please return Frankie the Frog and his journal back to school by Monday or Tuesday.
Monday: Please send in a poster with photos, drawing, pictures from birth to present, etc. It should teach us something about your special child. The poster can be as simple or as extravagant as you want. If your child rides a bus, you may want to roll his/her poster up and send it in a tall kitchen bag. (return Frankie the Frog’s journal today or Tuesday)
Tuesday: Send in one “Show and Tell” item. This item must fit in your child’s book bag.
Wednesday: Send in the yellow “Ten Super Things About Me” list.
Thursday: Select a favorite book that is appropriate for all kindergarten students. You may send this book to school and it will be read to the class by one of your teachers OR one parent/visitor of your choice may visit our classroom and read the book to our class from approximately 8:00-8:10. If you plan to visit our classroom on Thursday morning, please notify us in writing (or email) by Tuesday so we can adjust our Thursday schedule accordingly.
Friday: They will share their happenings with Frankie the Frog.
